Medieval Weekend - August Bank Holiday

Could you be a knight of the Round Table?

Set in the magical setting at Herstmonceux castle, medieval history comes to life. Over 1000 knights, bowmen and men at arms will lay siege to the castle in a fantastic re-enactment of times gone by. This is England's LARGEST medieval battle complete with cannon fire and plenty of real old ale and buxom wenches!

There will be longbow competitions, have-a-go archery, fire eaters, jousting, strolling minstrels, medieval side saddle displays and loads more... In the evening we get to stay right there and party on with some good old mead and jugs of ale.

We'll also get a chance to visit the very place where medieval life in England began and where the last Saxon King got it in the eye - Relive the Battle of Hastings at Battle Abbey, then we'll visit the ancient and mysterious Long Man of Wilmington before heading back to smoggy London!
