The Cotswolds and Nympsfield
Nestled
on the edge of the Cotswolds, Nympsfield is a tiny hidden
gem in England’s glorious crown. It is far off the
beaten track, in a charismatic quintessentially English
village. Nympsfield contains a host of attractions centred
around both its Neolithic history and its many scenic walks
around the stunning countryside.
Crawl into Uley long barrow and discover the mysteries of
Neolithic burial rituals. As you wander around Nympsfield
long barrow you can stand on the very edge of the Cotswolds
overlooking the Severn valley, the river far in the distance
framing this incredible backdrop of fields and lush woodland.
Woodchester Park, just down the road, is home to the mysterious
unfinished mansion. The story of which is inextricably linked
to our home for the night with the nuns of Nympsfield.
Opposite our nightly stay is one of only 5 remaining coaching
inns in England, the 500 year old Rose and Crown. The perfect
opportunity to sample some fine old English ale and have
a natter with the locals…
You can’t help but be charmed by this pretty English
village.
