About Us and About the tours

From the ashes of the Las Vegas Backpackers

Emma Andrews, Rick Halligan and Luke Ryan see themselves as pretty well seasoned travellers. With over 18 years combined travelling experience, work experience in 8 countries from Bolivia to Ghana and having visited every continent on the planet, they reckon they know a bit about backpacking…

Its this knowledge and experience of travelling and working within the tourism sector coupled with their in depth knowledge of their own country and culture, that gives them the desire to showcase Great Britain and what it means to the Brits, in a way they themselves would appreciate when abroad.

Why choose Carry On Tours?

Carry On Tours provide not only a driver but also your very own tour guide so we can give you our full, undivided attention and not have to worry about concentrating on the road.

Carry On Tours uses British guides who are passionate and knowledgeable about what they do and what they’ll show you.

Carry On Tours only use small minibuses so you’ll never have more than 14 other people with you on your tour.

Carry On Tours knows its own country, that’s why we can take you not only to the best known and most famous places but also to places so far off the beaten track, no-one else even knows they exist.

Carry On Tours includes plenty of options throughout the tour so you can tailor it to suit you.

Carry On Tours use quality 16 seater minibuses fully equipped with first aid kit, seatbelts, TV and DVD player and CD player. Your comfort and safety come first.

Emma, Rick and Luke first met while working in the same hostel in Las Vegas, Emma was the hostel manager when Rick became the entertainments manager. Luke had been working in the same backpackers as a bin man and he worked his way up to manage the tour desk. A great friendship and an even better partnership was born and after a successful fun packed year they said farewell and went their separate ways to hit the road again. A few years later with a couple of intermittent meetings and drunken evenings together, they had all returned to the UK and decided to come together again to form a company specifically aimed at young independent travellers.
Ideas were flung around, issues raised and dealt with and missions made.
And so, Carry on Tours was born.

Our Guides

We specially select our guides to ensure you enjoy your tour to the max! Only British guides with experience in tourism and a great knowledge of our great country will do!

Of course, then there's the essential factor - an obligatory infectious sense of humour!

Why call yourself Carry On Tours?

For those of you who don't know, the Carry On movies were a series of movies with a cheeky, slightly slapstick and very typically British humour. The stars of the films, Sid James, Kenneth Williams, Barbara Windsor, Charles Hawtrey, Joan Sims to name but a few, were masters of the art of parody and double entendre.
